On August 18, 2017, Susan was a panel speaker on “Gender Issues in the Courtroom” at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles. This program was presented by Bridgeport Continuing Education, a California State Bar MCLE provider.
In March 2017, Susan was a co-moderator of a legal educational seminar that she created entitled "Civility and Professionalism in the Practice of Law - What Does This Mean for Women Lawyers Today?” This seminar featured U.S. District Court Judge Dolly Gee, LA County Superior Court Judge Laura Seigle, and ADR Mediator Cynthia Pasternak.
In May 2016, Susan presented and interviewed CA Supreme Court Associate Justice Goodwin Liu on access to justice, gender bias and related issues at the APAWLA’s annual installation.
In April, 2012, Susan spoke on a panel to discuss the complexity and challenges of E-Discovery issues in white collar criminal cases. Dealing with electronically stored information (ESI), for clients, prosecutors and defense attorneys, over the years has steadily grown in cost and complexity with little guidance provided by courts and none from the rules. November 10-12, 2011 Susan Yu was a Judge for the 10th Annual National Civil Trial Competition at Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, a three-day invitational tournament open to all ABA accredited law schools who have demonstrated excellence in mock trial training and competitions. Susan judged the final round. Sixteen schools were invited to compete.
